The new website CHRISTIAN HOME EDUCATION is now up and running. Successor to the old Covid Emergency Homeschooling site, it continues in the same style but with one lesson per week instead of four or five. October's lessons are all ready to go. If you feel like making a Native American headdress with feathers or elephants with Lego, dressing up as a WW1 nurse, or experimenting with perspective using Russian dolls while learning about David Brainerd, Hannibal, Edith Cavell and William Hogarth have a look at what is on offer! The lessons are designed to provide thought provoking material and hands on activities that will stimulate you to look at things through a “Bible lens”. Each lesson is self contained, can be used whole or in part and can usually be made use of bit by bit over a whole week. Joanne and I have tried to provide something for everyone in a wide age range and especially to consider mixed ages who might want to work together on the same topic. Everything is free of charge and we have tried to make the activities low budget, using things you may have around the house anyway.
We hope the lessons will form a useful supplement to The Mothers' Companion curriculum or whateer else you use. The long term aim is to keep all the lessons up on the web while adding a lesson per week until there is a full set for every day of the year, if the Lord spares us.
