With new children's books now deliberately following an agenda of transgenderism there are more reasons than ever to give our children wholesome older books to read. In the nineties we used to worry about a lack of proper, distinct role models that differentiated between boys' and girls' natural interests. Later it was books that encouraged lavatorial humour and normalised single parent families. Now it's far worse; families where there are two dads or two mums are all the rage in junior fiction. Happily, help is at hand. I have boxes of lovely old books you can borrow if you don't fancy the dubious offerings available at the local library. If you are coming on the CHESS holiday in September book a box now and pick it up at Cefn Lea. If not boxes can be passed via friends or even courier services. Choose your box and get in touch!
