Why is it the Mothers' Companion not the Mother's Companion? When I discussed the question with the children when we were starting out with the Mothers' Companion they were adamant that it should be a companion for many mothers not just one. Perhaps Arthur Mee called his book The Children's Shakespeare not The Child's Shakespeare for a similar reason. With hindsight it may have been a mistake but it is too late to change it now!
